The Trust Score Algorithm

GatherGuard calculates trust scores using a weighted system based on community behavior:

1. Base Score

Every user starts at 50 points

2. Positive Events

  • Gathering attendance: +5 points
  • Community vouch: +10 points
  • Leading a group: +8 points
  • Account verification: +10 points

3. Negative Signals

  • Content flagged: -15 points
  • Multiple reports: automatic flag

4. Earned Badges

  • 10+ gatherings → Regular Attender
  • 25+ gatherings → Committed Member
  • 3+ vouches → Community Vouched
  • 80+ score → High Trust
